the name of your band?
The name of our band is Unico Fruto. It's pronunciation is as follows (ooniko
frooto).

Alexandra Niki- guitar and vocals; Jean-Paul-
bass; Joanna Yagerman-vocals; Curtis Nystrom-drums;
Eduardo Gurfield-poet
and rapper; and finally but defintely not least Nevil Jackson- guitar and vocals
What
have been your musical influences?
We're all influenced
differently, which is what makes us pull together a different sound. We seem to
all
love rock but appreciate everything else like Jazz, Reggae, Hip-Hop,and
Funk to name a few. It's all there.
What
is the history of the band?
We've only been together
for a few months but our history goes much farther. We're all very tight.
As for the band we meet twice a week, once to organize musical events and the
other to reherse.
Looking
at the places that you have played how have they changed or stayed the same?
We
organized our first event on Saturday January 05,2002 and it went very well.
It was a benefit for our band Unico Fruto.We organized a line-up of rock bands
to play at a club called
North Six in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.It was a lot
of work,but it will definately happen many more times.
So keep an eye out
for April 06, 2002 at North Six and other things along the way.
How
does being in an Urban society impact your band (lyriacally,audience,audience
taht you might want to target,style)?
Being in an Urban society impacts our band financially more
tahn anything. We can't just play in our garage because
no one has a garage!
To
rent out a rehersal space is a B---H
in the wallet. Asthetically, urban life does have its impact on us but I don't
think we are consciously adapting or influencing our music in those respects.
We just do what we enjoy like every other artist.
