 Dia:Beacon closes for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

The museum’s café and bookshop open at 10:30 am year-round.
 
Please note that photography is not permitted within Dia:Beacon's galleries. Photography of the exterior of the building and grounds is permitted for personal use only.

by train
Dia:Beacon is located adjacent to the Beacon train station, which is served by Metro-North Railroad trains from Grand Central Terminal and Poughkeepsie. Trains run hourly in either direction during museum operating hours. For train information, visit www.mta.info or call 212.532.4900 or 800.METRO.INFO. For train travel from north of Poughkeepsie, take an Amtrak train to Poughkeepsie and transfer to a Metro-North train. Beacon is the second stop.

To walk to Dia:Beacon from the train station, exit the rear of the platform on the river (west) side. Turn left on Red Flynn Drive and follow it over the railroad tracks to Beekman Street. Turn right at Beekman Street and continue to Dia:Beacon which is the next driveway on the right.



by car: from New York City
Take Upper Level of George Washington Bridge New Jersey bound. Take first right off Bridge to Palisades Parkway North. Take Palisades Parkway North to end. At rotary, take 6 East/202 across Bear Mountain Bridge. Take the first left onto Route 9D North. Continue 16.5 miles north on 9D into the city of Beacon. At the fourth traffic light in Beacon (just past Beacon City Hall), make a left turn onto Beekman Street. Continue on Beekman Street .5 miles. Dia:Beacon's entrance is on the right, marked by a gray sign.(Travel time: approximately 80 minutes.)


by car: from New Jersey and points south (and by bus from New York City)
Take the Garden State Parkway North until it merges with the New York State Throughway 87/287. Take I-87 North to Exit 17, I-84. Follow local signs to I-84 East and continue on I-84 East across Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Immediately after the toll booths, take exit 11. Turn right at the top of the ramp onto Route 9D south. Turn right at the second light - Beekman Street. Continue on Beekman Street .5 miles. Dia:Beacon's entrance is on the right, marked by a gray sign


by car: from Westchester and points southeast
Take either 287 West until it merges with I-87 and continue to Exit 9, Route 9. Travel north on Route 9 to Fishkill. Take I-84 West two exits to Exit 11: Route 9D. Make a left turn onto Route 9D South. After traveling approximately one mile, make a right turn onto Beekman Street. Continue on Beekman Street .5 miles. Dia:Beacon's entrance is on the right, marked by a gray sign.

Take 287 West to Exit 9A, Route 684 and proceed on 684 to Exit 9W, I-84 West. Take I-84 West to Exit 11: Route 9D. Make a left turn onto Route 9D South. After traveling approximately one mile, make a right turn onto Beekman Street. Continue on Beekman Street .5 miles. Dia:Beacon's entrance is on the right, marked by a gray sign.


by car: from Connecticut and points east
Travel west on I-84 West to Exit 11: Route 9D. Make a left turn onto Route 9D South. After traveling approximately one mile, make a right turn onto Beekman Street. Continue on Beekman Street .5 miles. Dia:Beacon's entrance is on the right, marked by a gray sign.


by car: from Massachusetts and points northeast
Travel south on the Taconic State Parkway to I-84 West. Take I-84 West to Exit 11: Route 9D. Make a left turn onto Route 9D South. After traveling approximately one mile, make a right turn onto Beekman Street. Continue on Beekman Street .5 miles. Dia:Beacon's entrance is on the right, marked by a gray sign.


by car: from Albany and points north
Travel south on I-87 to Exit 17 ,I-84. Follow local signs to I-84 East and continue on I-84 East across Newburgh-Beacon Bridge. Take first exit, onto Route 9D South, into the city of Beacon. Continue on 9D to Beekman Street. Make a right onto Beekman Street. Continue on Beekman Street .5 miles. Dia:Beacon's entrance is on the right, marked by a gray sign.

Dia:Beacon has accessible parking, galleries, and bathrooms, as well as access by elevator to all levels.

Wheelchairs are available for visitor use at Dia:Beacon. Reservations are not required.

Café
The café at Dia:Beacon serves light fare including coffee and pastries. Sandwiches, salads, entrees and soups are prepared on the premises, using locally grown organic ingredients whenever possible. Box lunches are available to tour groups up to 25 in number; preorder two weeks in advance by contacting Café Manager Jennifer Casamassima at jcasamassima @ diabeacon.org. The café opens 30 minutes prior to the galleries, and closes with the galleries. Please refer to museum hours above for seasonal days/hours.

Tours
Please note that outside lecturers may not give tours in Dia's galleries.

A guided tour through Michael Heizer's North, East, South, West is given at 10:30 am on days of operation. To reserve for adults [18+ years], call 845.440.0100 x42 or e-mail: heizer @ diabeacon.org, provide your last name, the number of attendees [max: 10 guests], and the day of your visit. No confirmation is necessary.

Dia:Beacon Education Tours
Guided and unguided tours are available for school groups (k-12) with advance arrangements.

Dia:Beacon Saturday Public Tours
Dia:Beacon provides guided tours every Saturday at 1 pm. Tours are free with admission. Reservations are not necessary but can be made in person at the admissions desk.

Dia:Beacon Group Tours
Tours of Dia:Beacon are available to groups of 10-50, with advance reservations.

Dia:Beacon Unguided Tours
A special admission rate is available for unguided groups. Advance reservations are required.

Enjoy a guided or unguided visit to Dia:Beacon with a group. Groups may visit during the museum’s open hours (refer to seasonal days and hours). Special discounts are available for groups of 10 or more with advanced reservations.

Groups visiting Dia:Beacon should be aware of the policies at the museum. Photography is not permitted inside Dia:Beacon. Large bags, back packs, & umbrellas should be left on the bus or checked in the coatroom. Cell phone use is not allowed when inside the galleries. Any food items, including water bottles, should be discarded before entering the museum. Please note that outside lecturers may not give tours in Dia's galleries.

Groups of 25 or less may make reservations at the café for box lunches. Groups may choose to buy their lunch at the Dia:Beacon café. Weather permitting, Dia:Beacon has a small picnic area which can be used for lunching.

When making a reservation, please have ready the date and time you wish to visit, how you will be arriving, any time limitations, and if your group requires special assistance.
